Route: Certified copy from the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) → Maryland Secretary of State apostille → shipped to you

Opening a foreign branch, registering a subsidiary, bidding on a contract or opening a bank account abroad usually requires apostilled company documents.

Records filed with the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation, such as articles of incorporation, articles of organization and certificates of good standing, should be certified copies from SDAT. These go straight to the Secretary of State.
